Quatt Village hall
Quatt Village Hall was built in 1908 for the village, and is in memory of Susan Wolryche-Whitmore, the wife of local dignitary Geoffrey Charlton Wolryche-Whitmore of Dudmaston Hall. A commemorative stone can be seen on the front of the hall by the main entrance. The Dudmaston Estate was transferred to the
National Trust in 1978, the family continue reside at Dudmaston Hall.
The Village Hall has always been in existence as a village hall but was also the local primary school for about 50 years. It last opened its doors as a school about 60 years ago; there are still ex-pupils in the village that have fond memories of attending, and can tell a tale or two.
Today, the Hall is well used by the local community for a wide range of activities and events. It has also been hired out for many private functions.
Recently the Hall has undergone some dramatic changes. A new, fully equipped kitchen has been constructed on the back of the hall. A smaller meeting room is also in the throes of being completed. New toilet facilities, including a wheelchair friendly W.C. have been installed, access has been improved to be wheelchair friendly, new storage has been created for the chairs and tables.
The Village Hall is available for private functions, for availability and bookings go to the Hiring and Contacts page.
None of the recent changes to the hall could have happened without the help, support and financial backing of Shropshire County Council, The Community Council of Shropshire, Bridgnorth District Council, Quatt Malvern Parish Council, Switch on Shropshire and all those who volunteered their time, many thanks to you all.
